August 17, 2023This summer, Spring Education Group announced the opening of its brand new Eagle Montessori Teaching Academy (EMTA) to provide quality Montessori Early Childhood teacher education.
The mission of EMTA is to prepare adults for the transformative process of becoming Montessori educators who are culturally sensitive, creative, responsive to the needs of children and families, and knowledgeable about the Montessori method and its implementation. EMTA is dedicated to training Montessori teachers with the fundamental principles upon which Maria Montessori centered her philosophy. Spring Education Group believes that when the same principles that Montessori applied to educate the child are used with adult learners, deeper comprehension and a joy of learning evolve.
EMTA’s Early Childhood course, which takes 18 months to complete, includes online classes, five-weeks of in-person learning at Montessori Academy in Eagle, Idaho, and a nine-month student teaching practicum under the supervision of a qualified supervising teacher. Upon successful completion of the program, adult learners will graduate and be awarded an Early Childhood or Associate Early Childhood teaching credential from the American Montessori Society.*
To celebrate the opening of the new teaching academy, Spring Education Group held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 10 that featured a performance by students from Montessori Academy Eagle, as well as remarks from Barbara Mooney, Senior Vice President of Spring Education Group, Kat Love, Program Director, and Stacey Roth, Vice President of Spring Education Group. The event provided an opportunity for community members and prospective educators to meet with leadership, explore the facility and learn more about EMTA.
Educators interested in positively impacting future students’ educational journeys can sign-up for an upcoming information session by clicking here.
*Eagle Montessori Teaching Academy is seeking American Montessori Society (AMS) affiliation and accreditation through Montessori Accreditation Council for Education (MACTE) at this time, and any references to AMS or MACTE are solely to indicate that those standards and requirements are being followed. Once accredited, Eagle Montessori Teaching Academy will be authorized to offer the AMS credentials.
