April 8, 2024Merryhill School recently celebrated their 75th anniversary!
On Thursday, February 15, 2024 we came together in celebration of 75 years of educational excellence at Merryhill School. With more than 80 guests in attendance, including dignitaries from the City of Milpitas, Merryhill students, parents, teachers, and staff, it was a vibrant celebration! Our middle school Merryhill Knights Student Council were wonderful tour guides and ran many tours, highlighting the new playground and the learning in action.
Festivities kicked off with our wonderful Third Graders opening with the iconic “The Merryhill Song.” Regional Director Connie Shipley emceed the event, and spoke beautifully about Merryhill’s history and how in 1949, Dorothy and Tom Tompkins started a small preschool in the annex of their church in downtown Sacramento, California. Then to highlight our present success, three incredible kindergarten students talked about why they love Merryhill School.
Others who shared during the event included Head of School Quinn Letan, Vice President of Operations Ashley Leyba, and Spring Education Group CEO Michael Collins. We were honored to be joined by Mayor Carmen Montano, Vice Mayor Evelyn Chua, Fire Chief Schoonover, Police Chief Hernandez, members of the Milpitas City Council, as well as many city staff, planning department, and others. Merryhill Milpitas also received a certificate of commendation from the city.
We congratulate Merryhill School on 75 years of providing a superior educational experience for students and families, and look forward to what the next 75 will bring!
