Spring Education Group IK12 & Montessori Schools Give Back During the Holiday Season

A core value across all of our schools is community service and giving back to others. Our IK12 and Montessori schools took action during the 2024 holiday season with a wide variety of holiday giving initiatives benefitting charities in their local communities. Beyond bringing joy to their local areas, these holiday giving initiatives also allow students the opportunity to take on leadership roles–building confidence in their own ability to make a difference.

Across the nation, our students and families collected thousands of items and raised funds for numerous organizations. Highlights included:

The Rhoades School

The Rhoades School in Encinitas, CA held a variety of charitable holiday initiatives to give back to the community. A toy drive collected over 200 toys to benefit Toys for Tots, a truck load of clothing items were donated to Veterans Village of San Diego, and students wrote letters to veterans for Operation Gratitude. By helping different groups of people, our students learned not only the value of community service, but also some of the many ways they can get involved in helping others.

LePort Montessori Schools

Our LePort Montessori Schools held donation drives to benefit organizations in their different areas. LePort Montessori Irvine Orchard Hills and Irvine Spectrum donated more than 64 pounds of food and over $800 to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank; while students from the Irvine Westpark and Irvine Woodbridge campuses worked together on donation drives to benefit Colette’s Children’s Home–an organization dedicated to providing homeless mothers and children with a safe home and nurturing environment where they receive the resources they need to achieve self-sufficiency.

LePort Montessori Donation Drive

LePort Montessori Huntington Harbor also held a toy drive to benefit the Children’s Hospital of Orange County’s Toy Donation. Students collected 100 items, including board games, a bubble blaster, dolls, stuffed animals, and more which were distributed to pediatric patients in December.

L’Etoile French Immersion School

Students at L’Etoile French Immersion School in Portland, OR donated toys to Portland Fire and Rescue, who then distributed the toys to children in need.

Evergreen Academy Montessori

Our Evergreen Academy Montessori Schools in the Seattle, WA area donated more than 470 toys to the Seattle Children’s Hospital. Students from the five schools worked together to collect brand-new toys to help spread cheer during the holidays and brighten the spirits of those who need it most.

Park Maitland School

Park Maitland School students across all three campuses donated a total of 1,607 toys during their Holiday Toy Drive! The We School Ambassadors shared with other students about the importance of collecting toys, and everyone came together to load the U-Haul. Our families showed true generosity and we are thankful for all who took part in this donation drive.

Sagemont Preparatory School

The National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) at Sagemont Preparatory Lower Campus organized a holiday drive to benefit ChildNet, a non-profit that supports vulnerable children in the community. In just six days, NEHS members used their service and leadership skills to brainstorm creative ways to promote the drive, including designing posters and spreading the word throughout campus. Thanks to their dedication and the generosity of the school community, over 100 gifts were donated for children and teens in foster care.
