October 6, 2020This summer, students at Spring Education Group schools across the country took part in “Kids Helping Communities” initiatives to give back to their communities during a time of great need. Students partnered with both local and national organizations and donated more than $13,000, more than 3,000 nonperishable food items, and more than 2,300 clothing and personal items, books and school supplies.
Highlights of the initiatives included:
- Students at Xplor preschools in Texas donated nearly $2,000 to Feeding America to benefit community members in need.
- Students at Carrington Academy in Georgia supported their local communities by donating more than 700 school supplies, over 450 food items and a variety of games for local seniors.
- Students at Enchanted Care and Ready Set Grow in Ohio raised more than $3,000 to benefit the Mid-Ohio Food Collective and provide meals to those in need.
The goal of the Kids Helping Communities initiative was to help students learn the importance of helping others in their communities – especially this year when so many people have been greatly impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students held fundraisers, donation drives and more to give back, spread kindness and truly make a difference in their communities.
Kids Helping Communities initiatives organized by Spring Education Group schools included donation drives to collect food, clothing, school supplies, pet items, diapers and other essential items, fundraisers to help fight childhood hunger and life-threatening illnesses, handmade card projects for first responders and seniors, and more.
