October 14, 2021This summer, students at Spring Education Group schools across the country took part in “Kids Helping Communities” initiatives to give back to their communities by helping those in need. Students partnered with both local and national organizations and donated more than $10,000, 5,750 food items, 1,450 school supply items, and hundreds of essential and childcare items. Highlights of the initiatives included:
- More than $1,000, 800 essential care items and 3,100 snack items were donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities across the country to help support seriously ill children and their families.
- A $4,000 donation was raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help children fight cancer and other pediatric diseases.
- Nearly $6,000 was raised for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation through lemonade and cookie sales to support the organization’s mission of impactful research, raising awareness and supporting families to help cure pediatric cancer.
The goal of the annual summer Kids Helping Communities initiative is to teach students about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others. Kids Helping Communities initiatives included donation drives to collect food, clothing, school supplies, pet items, diapers and other essential items, fundraisers to help fight childhood hunger and life-threatening illnesses, handmade card projects for first responders and seniors, and more.
